CAN YOU SLEEP TRAIN MY NEWBORN?

Babies aged 0-12 weeks are considered newborns. Due to their neurological immaturity, we do not sleep train newborns. We can however discuss with you the mechanics of sleep and how to set up healthy sleep habits. Starting early can have a positive effect on long term sleep behaviour and often mothers who implement healthy habits from 6 weeks onwards do not experience sleep regressions.

WILL I HAVE TO LET MY BABY CRY IT OUT?

Not at all. I always get to know your parenting style before recommending any sleep training techniques. If you are an attachment style parent or just don't like hearing you baby cry that is absolutely understandable and I would love to create a plan to suit your needs. Gentle methods do not work for all babies and can provide inconsistent results.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SLEEP TRAIN MY CHILD?

This depends on your chosen settling technique and your consistency. There is no magic wand that I wave over your child and like any new skill such as potty training, riding a bike or transitioning to solid foods- there is a process and if you don't practice, the process will be longer and harder. For gentle methods sleep training can take 2-6 weeks, otherwise medium- strict methods take 1-3 nights.

 

By changing sleep structure and improving the sleep environment, you will see improvements that make the process much easier and quicker. 

WILL I HAVE TO CANCEL ACTIVITIES AND STAY HOME FOR 2 WEEKS?

No, Hailey will be realistic in what she expects from you after chatting to you. I do ask you to stay home for 1 nap per day for 12/14 of the 2 weeks working together. You don't have to be super strict moving forward but it is important to follow routine while establishing healthy foundations. 

HOW CAN I START WORKING WITH YOU?

CAN YOU DO IT FOR ME?

Yes. I offer overnight packages. Before booking online please contact Hailey to find out how many nights would be required. Depending on age this will be 1-3 nights.

I AM WORRIED THAT THIS WON'T WORK FOR MY BABY?

The success of the sleep training depends on your consistency. There is ALWAYS a way up from the bottom. Parents often regret waiting so long to make changes.
